Description:

For those people out there who are serious about learning Korean, this app was designed for you. Designed by a fellow Korean learner who was dissatisfied with the current Korean flash card offerings available for iOS users, this app incorporates the major components necessary for students to learn Korean vocabulary quickly: (1) interval training, (2) word list editor, (3) native pronunciation, and (4) a huge (huge) vocabulary of words.

(1) The use of interval training means that you only need to select the list of words youd like to learn and the app will take care of the rest. Each word you study knows how often you get it right and at what time it should present itself again so that you will be most likely to remember it in the future. Kingsmen Korean uses a proprietary interval algorithm derived from the research literature on gradual recall in order to provide you with the most efficient means to learn as many words as quickly as possible.

(2) In order to be successful in learning Korean, the truth is that you will need a wide range of resources, including textbooks, audio conversations, dictionaries, etc., that work in concert to give you a better understanding of the language as a whole. Because of this fact, much of the development in Kingsmen Korean was spent on enabling the user to create and edit their own, personal word lists that match whatever other sources theyre using. Are you a first-year university student? You probably care more about studying words organized in accordance with your textbook than the TOPIK exam list. Now you can. Are you working for a company that requires you to take the TOPIK exam? Now you can focus your energies solely on studying for TOPIK.

(3) Knowing the spelling of a word is only half the battle, especially if youre new to Hangul and all of its (many) spelling rules. For this reason we have endeavored to include audio from native speakers for as many words as possible. This feature is especially great if you are just starting to learn Hangul as each word serves as an example with immediate feedback to speed up your reading ability.

(4) Learning a language necessitates learning lots of words. Low estimates of the number of words needed to become conversational in Korean start around 3500. Worse, most Korean resources that contain the appropriate number of words have far too many errors to be reliable. Thus we have endeavored to include more than 5000 words in the Basic Package and more than 12000 words in the Advanced Package. We are constantly improving our dictionary, so if you catch an error, please use the in-app feedback to tell us and we will correct it straight away!

This app was made by and intended for people serious about learning Korean. As the creator of this app is (and will be) learning Korean for quite some time this app is under indefinite development. If you have any problems or suggestions with Kingsmen Korean please leave us your feedback, we are very interested to hear it. We hope this app serves you well and good luck on all your Korean adventures!
